Just wanted to give everybody an update on Pate. He is still adjusting to being in a home. We are able to leave him out more and more while someone is home as long as he is wearing his belly band. He has only tried to mark somewhere one time in the past two weeks, but since then he has been doing very well. We hope that someone will want to meet him sometime soon. He is incredibly sweet and is now really starting to play with toys a lot when he is out. We even put a toy in his crate to play with a little while we are gone that way he can entertain himself. He still shows a little bit of interest in the cats (both inside and out). We correct him by using "Pate, leave it", and that breaks his focus on the cats. If anyone has any questions about this sweet, sweet boy please leave a message on the blog or email me at abbeyroop@yahoo.com.

Here is cute, cute, cute, Pate!

Here is our cute, cute, cute foster, Pate!

Welcome to Impatient!

Hi, I am Impatient's foster sister and I wanted to share with everyone about him. While Impatient was his name on the track we are calling him "Pate" for the time being. Although we believe that he came to us right from a kennel, he is beginning to settle into life in a home. He spends the night and a little bit of the day in a crate and he does very well. He uses a "Belly Band" while he is out of the crate and is allowed to take naps on dog beds while supervised. When he first came to us he was very shy and a little bit on the skinny side, but over a little bit of time he has put a few pounds on and is really blossoming. He loves to run and play outside in the back yard with Kanuken (as long as they have muzzles on right now), and he is beginning to show interest in playing with different toys that are around the house. This morning he had his first ever (as far as we know) Kong filled with peanut butter and he licked it clean within five minutes, so I think that he definitely enjoyed that. He is starting to learn the difference between indoor cats and outdoor cats. He shows some interest in them, but he is easily corrected when you call his name. He just needs to be supervised while around cats for the time being. Pate is definitely still a work in progress, but we think with love, patience, and time that he will be a wonderful addition to any family who is looking to add a "Super Senior" to their pack!
